Why Visit Doxa?

You are probably reading this website for one of two different reasons…

  1. You are a believer with some kind of church background or tradition and you are looking for a church in or around Woodstock.
  2. You are not a Christian and are either curious about the Christian faith or a skeptic. Maybe you’ve experienced too many hypocrites to be a Christian. Maybe you have a different faith background. Or maybe you just aren’t sure what you believe.

Doxa Fellowship is a church on mission to bring the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus’ Kingdom, love and forgiveness. If you are a Christian we hope you will look into Doxa as a new church home. Join us in this mission of sacrifice and transformation. If you are curious or a skeptic we want Doxa to be a safe place for you to bring your questions, doubts, concerns and hurts.

“Doxa” is the Greek word for “glory” as found in the text of the New Testament. One author writes, “Glory is what you see and experience and feel when God goes public with His beauty!” (via) In a world where beauty is often marred and relationships are broken and sin is in our hearts, we need to see and experience and be transformed by the perfect beauty of God.

God’s greatest display of his beauty is through the life, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. Jesus died so that you and I could have our relationship with God restored. Doxa Fellowship exists to spread that Gospel to the city of Woodstock and throughout McHenry County.

We hope you will look around DoxaFellowship.org and find out more about us. More importantly we hope you will visit on a Sunday morning and get a feel for who we are and what we are about. We’re here to serve you.

Doxa meets at 10:30am on Sundays at the Waverly House in beautiful downtown Woodstock.
